Projects we have undertaken:

• Training for Patient Information and Recall Systems for Aboriginal Medical Services

Look Both Ways has delivered training programs on the effective use of electronic patient information and recall systems at a number of Aboriginal Medical Services around Australia. This includes training for Communicare, Medical Director, PENCAT and OCHREStreams.

• Service Planning for Aboriginal Health Services

Look Both Ways has developed comprehensive service plans for a number for Aboriginal Health Services. These plans incorporated national and state benchmarks, targets linked to funding requirements and KPI's.

• Medicare Maximisation for Aboriginal Health

Look Both Ways has delivered a program designed to maximise Medicare revenue at a number of Aboriginal Medical Services. This included auditing of past Medicare claims and gap analysis, Practice and Service Incentive assistance, staff training and rollout of patient pathways to ensure that all available claims are utilised.

• Development of a Strategy Document for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

Look Both Ways has developed a statewide strategy document to assist a Peak Body and its Aboriginal Health Service Members to prepare for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

• Integration of Drug and Alcohol Service Pathways into Computerised Client Records

Look Both Ways has assisted an AMS to map its Drug and Alcohol Documentation needs and to integrate these into its patient information system.

• Integration of 1-21-70 Program Requirements into Patient Information Systems

Look Both Ways has assisted an AMS to map out all requirements of the 1-21-70 quality program and to modify computerised health checks and documents to ensure that all required assessments for best practice care are correctly documented.

• Survey: Health Information and Communication Technology Capacity and Needs

Look Both Ways was contracted by the Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO) to assist with the design of a survey tool to help determine the capacity and needs of Aboriginal Health Services in Victoria. Look Both Ways also assisted with data collection for the project, visiting 12 Aboriginal Medical Services in Victoria.

• Accreditation Preparation Support

Look Both Ways has assisted a number of Aboriginal Health Organisations to meet requirements of health and community focused accreditation programs. These include Quality Improvement Council Standards (QIC)
and RACGP Standards (GPA and AGPAL).

• Education Programs for Nursing Students

Look Both Ways has developed and delivered training to satisfy the requirements of HLTHIR404B: Work effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

• Workshop: Working Effectively With Aboriginal Medical Services

Look Both Ways has delivered a workshop for staff working in Medicare Locals designed to improve the knowledge and skills required to work effectively with Aboriginal Medical Services.

• Grampians/Loddon Mallee After Hours Palliative Care Project

Look Both Ways was contracted by the Grampians and Loddon Mallee Palliative Care Consortium to develop a training package and deliver clinical training to palliative care nurses.
