Donegal manager Jim McGuinness is proud of his county's haul of eight All Stars but his first thoughts are with the other players who missed out.

The All-Ireland champions dominated the 2012 selection and their manager felt that they had to be content with their representation.

"You'd have to be happy with it," said McGuinness at the launch of the Match for Michaela today. "Obviously, your heart would turn to the players who haven't been selected as a first, to be honest.

"Some of them you would have to feel were very, very close. But that's the thing about the All Stars, it's all about opinions. Overall we'd be very happy with it."

On Saturday 5 November, Donegal will play Ulster at Casement Park in a fundraiser for the Michaela Foundation. It is an event that everyone in Donegal is proud to be associated with: "It's a great even to be involved in and we are delighted to play any part in it. Fingers crossed we can get a good crowd here on the night.

"We are hoping to field as a strong a team as we possibly can in order to make it as competitive as we can."
