Jimmy came to us through a local shelter that had him as their only remaining equine. The shelter realised that Jimmy needed other horse mates, so they organised for him to come and live at Harmony Reins. A lot of Jimmy’s history is unknown. What we do know is that he is a Standard Bred who was born on 2 Jan 1980 making him 31. He had 28 race starts in his career with 1 win, 1 second and 2 third place wins. We believe that after his racing career he had a hard life, before finding his way to Harmony Reins.
Jimmy has been with us now for 5 years and is slowly beginning to show his age. It is always a challenge to keep his condition despite him having two decent feeds a day. People who do not know horses, often ask if he is one of our current rescue cases as he looks a bit sunken in the back and his ribs show a little.
Jimmy is in his element at Harmony Reins! He enjoys playing with his mates, loves his food, and enjoys a good snuggle in his toasty warm rugs in the winter. He is a happy old boy and we hope he’ll be a permanent fixture at Harmony Reins for many years to come.
