GREETINGS from frigid New York City!
It’s been very busy over here. One of my biggest pieces of news is that I hired an assistant, who is now known around these parts as Saint Lydia. She is seriously saving my life these days! We’ve been having fast & furious brainstorming sessions over cups of lavender earl grey tea, shooting photos all over the East Village & performing what has essentially been an exorcism on my office! It’s so, so good to have someone else helping me out. I’ve been doing this totally alone for almost five years (!!!), so this is a majorly needed adjustment. So good!
What else? Well, for Halloween I dressed up as Alice…
Now that’s a good wig. (I’ve had a couple of people ask where it came from – I bought it from a shop called something like Wigs ‘N’ Things on 14th Street in Manhattan.)
My husband dressed up as Peter Venkman… & made his own proton pack from cardboard boxes & old computer wires. Watching him put it together was so rad! That art school education totally paid off… ! I love him so much.
In other news, I have this new direction which I am kind of freaked out about but at the same time, it feels SO SO RIGHT & I’m really excited… It has all come together in the last couple of days in a totally serendipitous way, but then, the best things always do. I don’t know when, or how, it’s all going to come to fruition, but that’s okay. Just knowing is so good.
Also, I have an obsession with crystals right now, I want to wear them all over my body at all times. HIPPIE!
Can I just pause for a second & take a minute to appreciate my husband? He is the greatest. As well as being extremely fiiiiiiine, he is so encouraging of me & always motivates me to dream bigger & act accordingly. It’s pretty amazing & I love him so, so much for it. How did I get so lucky?
Oh, my other new obsession is curling my hair. I’m not very good at it, & it takes me approximately FOREVER, but it’s so much fun! I never thought I’d wear my hair curly but I am really into it! Wiggly! Here is me with curly hair in emoticon form:

Okay… Stay warm, & keep smiling!
P.S. All photos by Lydia Hudgens. Ain’t she a peach?!
P.P.S. This entry was written specially for @helenlindsay. Mwah!!!
Photo taken on 6th Avenue. Skirt is Bebe, tights were purchased in Barcelona, & boots are by Frye.
I’m back from my Spanish adventure! Lots of photos & silly stories to come!
Morning routine. Karen Walker sunglasses, knit hat to cover up the ever-present bedhead, cacao smoothie.
Isn’t it interesting the way things turn up just when you need them? This morning, I read this excerpt from The Education of Millionaires: It’s Not What You Think and It’s Not Too Late:
“Another way to see it: at any point in your career, you’ll usually be choosing between one path that is safer & one path that has the potential to feel more meaningful to you, between one path that is certain & one that offers more of a chance for a sense of purpose & heroism. It’s hard to be a hero if there’s no risk involved.
A good way to think about ‘living a meaningful life,’ to a first approximation, is 'making a difference in the lives of people you care about.’”
A Very British Look On A Very Rainy Day! I had so much fun shooting these pictures with Lydia!
…Now it’s back to my desk to continue working on Radical Self Love Bootcamp! It’s gonna be a doozy!
A sneak peek from this morning’s shoot with Lydia Hudgens & Nubby Twiglet… Can’t wait to show you more!
