If you wish our German-to-English translators to use particular terms in your translated documents, please discuss and clarify these with us in advance to ensure satisfaction. In particular, this applies to the translation of educational qualifications, where there are officially accepted, standardised translations for conveying the meaning of educational outcomes between the differing education systems. In translating educational documents we refer to both the NOOSR Country Education Profiles (Germany, Switzerland, Austria) and the Australian Standard Classification of Occupations published by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.  

German Translation Online is also happy to provide a draft translation by email for your approval once payment has been made in full to our account. In such cases, the final translation can be printed, stamped and delivered once we receive your ultimate approval.

Germans seeking to have their tertiary qualifications recognised in Australia may wish to contact the "Sekretariat der staendigen Konferenz der Kultusminister der Laender in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland" at Lennestrasse 6, 53113 Bonn (0228-501-0). This authority issues full explanations (in English) of tertiary education courses and their equivalence for presentation to foreign education assessment authorities. Issue of such documents may take 4-6 weeks.


Terms of business and delivery

Our terms of business and delivery are designed to simplify the provision of our high quality service
We only provide a written quote on the basis of sighted documents. The only exceptions are so-called standard documents, e.g. birth certificate, German high school certificate

We provide a written quote containing all relevant details of the job. This serves as our contract of service. The client is required to sign the quote and return it to German Translation Online for us to commence work unless other arrangements have been made.

Our standard charges are based on either the number of words in the English text (translation/original) or by the hour (interpreting and other services).

Additional charges and services may be invoiced, e.g. multiple copies, photocopying, express postage

Any quote is valid for five days, after which time a new quote may need to be negotiated.

The price of services may be fixed in advance and/or subject to the final number of words in the completed translation or number of hours of service.

Quotes may be subject to a provision stating a permissible final price range in cases where it is difficult to specifiy the final number of words or hours required to provide the service in advance. 

Our work is completed by appropriately accredited translators /interpreters (NAATI/IHK) unless specifically stated otherwise.

We accept text in hard copy or soft copy. All text must be legible and complete. We accept standard software file formats including MSWord, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe pdf and jpeg.

We do not guarantee the authenticity of the source document.

Our service shall not be liable for any damage, loss or injury resulting directly or indirectly from the use of, reliance on or inability to use our translation.

We deliver translations strictly as a certified hard copy or by email in MSWord or Rich Text Format. We cannot certify true copies. This service is performed by a Justice of the Peace.

Delivery of translations is made subject to full payment of the work unless other arrangements have been explicitly made.

We accept cash, electronic deposits into our account, cheques and money orders.
