Established in 1972, Emeco is a leading independent supplier of heavy earthmoving equipment solutions to the global mining industry, with operations across Australia, Indonesia and Canada. Demand for Emeco’s equipment rental and asset management services continues to grow. As a result, we are currently seeking a suitably experienced and qualified Purchasing and Contracts Manager to join our team in Osborne Park, WA.

The Position

An exciting opportunity in a newly created role has become available for a Purchasing Contracts Manager to join our Commercial Rental team. The role will provide a comprehensive professional procurement service to the Australian business so that processes and practices are in place to ensure that all goods and services are procured in line with specified quality, price and commercial terms.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager – Australian Rental and working closely with stakeholders across the business, the Purchasing Contracts Manager will be required to:
  • Design & Implement the Emeco strategic procurement plan;
  • Monitor and analyse trends in company spending and negotiate category level forward purchasing agreements with preferred suppliers;
  • Work with key suppliers to improve value delivered to the business;
  • Develop, pilot and implement procurement tools to deliver cost, quality and efficiency benefits;
  • Liaise with inventory controllers and purchasing professionals regarding the sourcing and stocking of high frequency critical-to-quality parts and services;
  • Facilitate the ongoing training of business unit personnel in purchasing practices, policies & systems; and
  • Travel when required to Emeco’s branches both regionally and interstate.
To be considered for this role you will possess significant experience in a senior purchasing or contracts role, detailed understanding of purchasing information systems and preferably possess extensive tendering & contracts experience within a large mining services organisation. You will be able to demonstrate a high level of commercial acumen when dealing with internal and external stakeholders. You will also possess extensive contractual law knowledge and expertise.
