There are a number of ways to travel from the Darwin Airport into Darwin City. The distance between the two will take around 10 – 15 minutes.
Car Rental
Renting a car at Darwin International Airport is a great idea if you are planning to travel past the city. You can pre-book using the information below or book once you arrive at the airport. The car rental counters are located in the Arrivals Hall. The Darwin road system is relatively easy to navigate and well sign-posted so finding your way around won't be difficult. However, you might want to pick up a map or hire a GPS so you don't waste time getting lost.

Darwin Airport Shuttle Bus
The Darwin Airport Shuttle Bus is a cheap and quick way to transfer yourself from the Airport to your accommodation and back again. The shuttle runs 24 hours a day servicing all domestic and international flights. If you require a pick up from your hotel, you must book in advance.

Taxis
Taxis are available from the taxi rank in front of the Terminal and should cost between AUD $25 – $30 to get into Darwin City. Since 06/04/09 there has been the implementation of a Taxi Toll of $3 upon exiting the airport. There is ground staff at the airport to help you find the best transport option for you, they even assist with ‘multi-hiring’ of taxis for people traveling in similar directions.

At the front of the Terminal there is a Private Hire Car Rank. These cars are available for hire and the price negotiated between driver and passenger.
