Our Origins
The Club
The Club was established in 1980 when a group of enthusiastic
bushwalkers identified a need to establish a club in the Ballarat
area. The first event was a day walk held in the Werribee Gorge. The club has
continued to flourish and while trends and interests may have
changed over the years, the focus has remained on the enjoyment of
outdoor activities for all ages. The club currently has in the
region of 200 members.
The BAD ride
The club held the first Ballarat Autumn Day ride (BAD ride) in 1990 and this event proved a popular and enjoyable event for cyclists from Ballarat and beyond. The final BAD ride was held in May 2016
The Committee
The club is run by a committee which is elected at the Annual
General Meeting in August. The committee is made up of President,
Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary and four Committee members.
The committee meets two weeks prior to club night; all members are
welcome to attend committee meetings.
The Club also has a Newsletter Editor, Property Officer, Environmental Officer and an events coordinator.
