bnj consultants has a long history in the emergency management area, going back to 1987 when Brad was part of the Central Exercise Writing Team for the South Australian Emergency Services. Since that time, Brad has been involved at a senior level in various emergency management operations, ranging from bushfires to floods to evacuations, searches and rescue operations.

Since leaving the South Australia Police brad, and bnj consultants has been involved in the writing and review of crisis management plans, emergency management plans and the review and testing of plans within the corporate environment. Some of our previous clients have been ATCO, Beach Energy and AMOSC.

bnj consultants pty ltd has been operating out of Port Lincoln since 2012, with a focus on regional representation, community consultation, government interaction, land acquisition, logistics & administration, business continuity planning and Emergency Management, along with other risk related areas.

Our contacts include regional business leaders, representatives of Local Government, (Mayors, Councillors & CEO’s) along with State and Federal Members of Parliament. Due to a long history in the Eyre & Western areas of South Australia, bnj consultants pty ltd has an extensive knowledge of the geography and the communities of the region (including indigenous communities). We have linked large international companies with the communities of the Eyre and Western Region of South Australia. We have a close working relationship with the Whyalla & Eyre Peninsula Regional Development Australia (RDA) and most Local governments in the Eyre & Western Region.

We are well known across the western part of South Australia for our integrity, drive and community leadership skills. bnj consultants pty ltd demonstrates corporate level acumen, with the ability to operate at either strategic or tactical levels of operations.

bnj consultants pty ltd have been involved with Local, Regional, State and Federal Government groups relating to the writing of business cases for grant applications. The applications have covered Local Government, Regional Development Australia, sporting groups and private manufacturing companies. Up until August 2017 we have been successful in gaining over $4 million in grants and funding over the last two years.

Over the last five years bnj consultants pty ltd have been active in executive level training in the manufacturing, Local Government and the oil and gas sectors.  The focus has been on business continuity planning, crisis and emergency management and leadership. Presentations have been undertaken for various companies and organisations including Beach Energy, ATCO Australia, ORORA Glass and various Local Governments across South Australia.

Since the latest rounds of exploration in the Great Australian Bight have commenced, bnj consultants pty ltd has been well positioned to perform community consultation on behalf of the companies operating in the Bight. Companies such as Dolphin Seismic, PGS, StatOil, BP, Murphy Oil Australia, SANTOS AMOSC and Chevron have all been engaged in community consultation throughout South Australia and have utilised the services of bnj consultants pty ltd. The network of contacts that bnj consultants pty ltd has throughout the state has ensured that the consultations have reached the correct people and identified groups and organisations that companies need to contact and interact with. bnj consultants pty ltd has extensive networks throughout the State and contacts with Local, Regional, State and Federal key figures.

bnj consultants pty ltd has extensive experience in logistics gained previously in the ADF, Police and since the commencement of the company in 2012. Since commencing operations bnj consultants pty ltd has supported seismic operations in the Great Australian Bight. Searching for and negotiating vessels of opportunity, shore support and management of crew change overs has been undertaken in association with companies such as Dolphin Seismic, PGS, AMOSC and Offshore Unlimited.

bnj consultants pty ltd has extensive experience in business continuity planning (BCP). Brad Flaherty wrote the first BCP for the South Australia Police in 1999 in preparation for Y2K. He also chaired the panel for all South Australian Emergency Services relating to BCP and the implementation of State wide BCP’s for the emergency services. In 2012 through to 2017, bnj consultants pty ltd wrote, modified and exercised the staff at Beach Energy relating to their BCP. Bnj consultants is currently writing the Recovery Plan for the District Council of Lower Eyre Peninsula with the expectation that this plan will become the template for all Local Government Areas within the state of South Australia.
