“King Shaka International Airport opens on schedule on 1 May 2010”


On the 30th April, the current Durban Airport will process its last flight and the next morning all planes will fly to and from the new King Shaka International Airport situated on the north coast, at La Mercy. And, Budget will be there to welcome everyone.

Our new kiosk, manned by a team dedicated to customer service, is geared to cater for even the most discerning customer’s car rental needs. Visitors have a host of different services to choose from including your own private Chauffeur Service, Wheelchair Accessible Transport or Door2Door Transfers. For those of you who prefer to drive yourselves and are unfamiliar with Durban and its surrounds, our GPS units will help you get around. Our wide range of vehicles – including SUVs and convertibles – cater for both your lifestyle and your budget.

With 10 dedicated customer service points and an increased number of parking bays to ease traffic flow, Budget is able to offer world-class service at a world-class airport. We are ready and waiting to welcome our 2010 FIFA World Cup visitors to Durban.

Below is some useful information to help you familiarise yourself with this new facility.

KSIA OPERATING HOURS
05h00 to 22h00 seven days a week.

ARRIVE EARLY
ACSA spokesman, Colin Naidoo, has advised travellers to get to the airport earlier than they ordinarily would, as they will need to familiarise themselves with the new facility i.e. two hours in advance of a domestic departure and 3 hours in advance of direct international flights out of Durban on Emirates and Air Mauritius.

ROAD ACCESS

PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF AREAS
The pick-up areas are separated for private vehicles and public transport. The drop-off area is situated on the elevated roadway, outside the Departures Hall at the passenger terminal.

PARKING ZONES AND BAYS
Public parking is available in both the open shaded parking area as well as in the multi-storey parkade.

iHelp AGENTS
To assist passengers ACSA will have iHelp Agents placed strategically within the airport to assist with information, directions and hand-out useful leaflets. Look out for them, they will be wearing a T-shirt that will say,” Help!”.
