BIC RUNGA ANNOUNCES SPECIAL AUSTRALIAN LIVE ACOUSTIC TOUR CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF ‘BEAUTIFUL COLLISION’

New Zealand music icon Bic Runga is bringing her upcoming Acoustic Tour to Australia this August 2023, celebrating the 20-year anniversary since the release of her eleven-time platinum, best-selling album BEAUTIFUL COLLISION presented by Select Music and August Avenue.

The tour kicks off in Cairns at Tanks Arts Centre on Friday 11th August, before heading to Sydney at Marrickville’s Great Club on Saturday, August 12, Newcastle’s Lizottes on Sunday, August 13th, Brisbane’s Old Museum on Thursday, August 17th and performing with a full band at the Melbourne Recital Centre on Friday, August 18th.

CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF ‘BEAUTIFUL COLLISION’

AUCKLAND, NZ –  Tuesday, May 2, 2023: – New Zealand music icon Bic Runga will travel across the country this July celebrating the 20 year anniversary since the release of her eleven-time platinum, best-selling album ‘Beautiful Collision.’

The tour kicks off in Hastings’ Toitoi Opera House on Saturday July 15, before heading to Christchurch’s Isaac Theatre Royal on Friday July 21, Tauranga’s Holy Trinity Auditorium on Saturday July 22, Auckland’s Town Hall (as part of Elemental Nights) on Friday July 28 and Wellington’s St James Theatre on Sunday July 30.

Tickets for all shows go on sale 11am Friday May 5.

"Beautiful Collision was my favourite album to make, and still means a lot to me after twenty years,” says Bic. “I hope that if these songs hold a special place for anyone, that they will enjoy celebrating the anniversary of this album with me as a complete concert performance.”

Bic will be joined by special guest Georgia Lines at all performances.

Beautiful Collision was released in 2002 and features the hits ‘Get Some Sleep’, ‘Something Good' and ‘Listening For The Weather.’ As a result of this release as well as former and subsequent others, Bic has been awarded almost every musical honour in New Zealand, including winning the most Tui Awards by any individual (twenty) as well as the prestigious APRA Silver Scroll song writing award. In January 2006, Bic was made a member of the New Zealand Order of Merit, and in 2016 was the recipient of the Legacy Award at the New Zealand Music Awards as well as inducted in to the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame.
