About

Nostalgia Shop

In more recent times I have chosen to move my work transferring and restoring of old media to Nostalgia Shop. (Previously carried out under Aureola Productions.)

I have also added an online shop where you may purchase reproductions of older and early media.

Aureola (pronounced or-ee-o-la) Productions

Since the early 2000s I have worked extensively under this name transferring and restoring films, videos, photographs and sound recordings. Production video and audio work etc. as previously carried out under this name will continue.

The original Aureola Productions was begun by myself and my parents in the late 1960s mainly producing Super 8mm documentary films and audio visual slide and sound presentations. Much of that original film is now archived and will be restored as time and resources allow.

Vortex Media Promotions

I also established in the early 1970s working in stage production, stage lighting, public address, sound recording, general electrical and electronic installation and repairs.

Aureola Productions and Vortex Media Promotions have continued in some form since establishment.

During this period I gained extensive experience in new and emerging audio visual technologies. Some of the older equipment I now use for the recovery of past media I acquired back in these early days and I have kept it all in good working condition since.

My working life

started in the electrical and electronics trades in industrial control systems and later into many diverse areas of multimedia technology. I only recently relinquished my Electrical Contractors License and I am thankful for the knowledge and experience gained in my earlier working life.

Technology has progressed at a rapid rate. I developed a strong interest in emerging digital audio and video technologies plus I have pursued my passion to preserve older equipment to provide for the recovery, restoration and preservation of recorded material in older formats. A case of merging the old with the new.

I am constantly looking at new developments in the recovery of older media. Aware on the one hand of the difficulty of accessing older media, for which reproduction equipment is rapidly becoming difficult to obtain, as well as being aware of the sophisticated technology available to digitally restore those recordings.

So, gather together all those media memories stored in a box somewhere and contact me for a chat about how I can help you, to retrieve and restore them for you and the next generation.
