Good mature anime!
Hi,
I am looking for some good anime`s with these specifications: 1. No female as main character/hero (all the crappy anime now have that, so annoying) 2. Mature anime (no kids please, very annoying) 3. Good storyline (attractive and not boring) 4. New (isnt older than 2000) 5. has some action I liked monster, gantz, naruto, samurai champloo... |

Fulfilling (1) is very difficult to do. There's at least a female hero with every male hero.
Other than that, I recommend Shingetsutan Tsukihime. The main hero is really Tohno Shiki, and the heroine is introduced later in the anime ... and this is a very cogent suggestion.

Few of my suggestion is older <2000. But it's nice, and great with a really good mature story, also having kids doesn't mean it's not gonna be mature, for example Last Exile is a really good show with a teenage boy as main character.
Escaflowne Berserk Gankutsuou Saikano (BEST ROMANCE ANIME EVER, IMO ^^) Noir (AWESOME OST) Hoshi no Koe Now and then, here and there PLANETES RahXephon Witch Hunter Robin Everything I suggested is what you're looking for. WATCH IT! hehe. On the note, if you are looking for mature anime, naruto can't be consider as one, it's a crappy shounen anime IMO, with a silly storyline that can be figure/made by anyone. |

No kids, and you quote Naruto oO? Well, give a look at this thread, most of the anime talked about there fit the "original&mature" theme (but some lack the action)

EDIT: I have no idea how I forgot to include Gankutsuou, one of the truly great anime series. I would second Planetes, but I've never really figured out if the girl is supposed to be the main character or if the boy is. Either way, she gets a lot of screentime.

filthydani, the statement you made saying kids are annoying making you sound like a kid!
and someone's right,if you don't like kids don't watch naruto. i admit that i sometimes find kids in live action movies annoying(except for movies like artificial intelligence or such) but in aniem world, those kids think like adults! Hmm..Male main character: 1.Great Teacher Onizuka (loved the manga, always my no.1 manga, don't know about the anime though, and i think it's older than year 2000) 2.scryed 3. Gundam SEED Well...i bet you like guys more than girls,if so i can recommend you Loveless,Suki na mono wa suki dakara shouganai,Kyou kara maou, gravitation, yami no matsuei, haru wo daite, they are all male-lead. |

The thing is, however, Arcueid appeared in episode two - Shiki appeared all the way. If this was a Hollywood cast, given that Shiki and Arcueid being equally good and equally popular actors, Shiki would get paid more, so he's higher up in the hierarchy. I'm not saying that Arcueid is *not* the one and only main character of Tsukihime, she primarily is (no guy can be a princess ), but given Shiki's appearance throughout the whole of Tsukihime - he's technically the main hero.

Elfen Lied complies w/all your requirements except no. 1. Bloody, good story, albeit a little short, only 13 eps. Some mentioned Ghost in the shell and Witch Hunter Robin, I won't deny they're good, I actually like 'em a lot, but they don't comply w/ no.1 either. Hellsing is a good one too, the anime isn't as lighthearted as the manga.
